  1. WEEK 1 Wednesday, September 6th 2023 Làm quen với chương trình và SGK Tiếng Anh 4 Introduction A. Objectives. By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to know about the importance of English, classroom rules, commands. * Resources: - Teacher: Text book, lesson plan,... - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, reference books... B. Procedure: I. Warm-up: - Greeting - Checking attendance * Chatting: - Introduce teacher’s name and chat with sts about names II. New lesson: *Introduce about Students’ book. 1. Classroom rules: - Teacher says about the classroom rules in Vietnamese. a. During lesson. - Pay attention to the lesson, give ideas. - Practise in English. - Join to activities during the lesson. b. At home. - Learn by heart vocabulary, grammar and write examples. - Read the dialogue. - Do exercises in the workbook. - Prepare next lesson. 2. Classroom commands: - Teacher use TPR – Sts look, listen and act Stand up, sit down, open the book, close the book, come in, go out, come here, come back to (turn) your seat, look, listen, repeat, read, write, sing. 3. Book’s form: - Have sts open their books and look - Elicit sts’ ideas abouts numbers of units, lessons and parts - Elicit the orders in the parts - Give feedback and conclude. 4. Thursday, September 6th 2023 STARTER A. HELLO AGAIN A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge – sing the song Hello. How are you? – listen to and understand a short text in which Ms Hoa greets the characters. – spell some words learnt in Grade 3 by playing the game Spelling Bee. 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Communication - Self-control & independent learning: perform listening tasks B. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Pupil’s book Page 7 - Flashcards/pictures and posters (Unit Starter) C. LEARNING PLAN Warm up: Greet the class: Hello. / Hi. How are you? and encourage pupils to respond and introduce themselves. Activity 1. Let’s sing. -Have pupils read the first verse of the lyrics. Have pupils listen to the first verse, drawing their attention to the pronunciation, rhythm and melody. Then let them listen to and practise singing it, line by line, while clapping their hands. - Ask pupils to listen to and sing the whole song while clapping their hands.
  3. - Invite a few groups to the front of the class to sing the song. The class may sing along and clap to reinforce the activity. Activity 2. Listen and tick - Draw pupils’ attention to the numbers. Tell them to listen and tick the correct box under each number while listening. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to do the task. Play the recording again for them to check their answers. - Tell pupils to swap their books with their partners, then check answers together as a class. - Write the correct answers on the board for pupils to correct their answers. - Play the recording again for pupils to double-check their answers. Let’s play. - Before playing the game, have pupils look at the English alphabet and sing The Alphabet song or spell the letters of the song. - Write the words on a piece of paper or on the board. - Call a group of four pupils to the front of the class. - Ask him / her to say one word (e.g. friend). The other members spell the word (e.g. F-R-I-E-N-D). The pupil who correctly spells the word first gets one point or star. - The pupil who has the most points or stars at the end of the game wins. Activity 4. Wrap up. Ask pupils to say the alphbets again. Thursday, September 6th 2023 STARTER B. CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge – say the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation. – listen to and understand four sentences describing what the characters are doing in the classroom at break time and number the correct pictures. - listen to and understand a chant with seven sentences describing what the characters usually do in the classroom, and act out the chant. 2. Skills - Listening and speaking.
  4. B. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Pupil’s book Page 8 - Flashcards/pictures and posters (Unit starter) C. LEARNING PLAN. Warm up: - Have pupils say the song (Activity 1, Page 7). - Ask pupils to look at the pictures and guess the activities in the classroom. Activity 1. Let’s chant. - Play the recording for pupils to listen to and repeat the chant, line by line. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to chant and clap - Invite a few groups of pupils to listen to and repeat the chant in front of the class. Praise them to encourage their performance. Activity 2. Listen and number. - Draw pupils’ attention to the pictures and ask questions such as Who are they? and What are they doing? - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. - Get pupils to swap books with a partner to check their answers before checking as a class. Listen and act out. -Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and familiarise themselves with the speaker’s voice. - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and point at the pictures. - Have pupils listen to the recording, line by line, and act out. - Invite a group to listen and act out in front of the class.
