- Period : 75 Class: 5A,5B,5C WEEK 20 Monday, January 15th 2024 UNIT 11: WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU? Lesson 3 (1.2.3) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: + say questions and answers with the correct intonation. + practice chanting 2. Skills. - Reading, writing and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - To help Ss loving English, love animals. 4. Forming competence: - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem themselves - Use language to talk about animals by English. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. *. Warm up: - Answer the questions. What’s the matter with you? 1. Listen and repeat: - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences intonation - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - give feedback 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then ask and answer: - Have pupils read the questions and pairs of words given - Tell sts that they are going to listen and circle a or b to complete the answer - Play CD – sts listen and circle - Get sts’ answer

Let’s chant - Show the chant “What’s the matter with you?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What’s the matter with you? What should you do?) - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation III. *Wrap – up. - Ask sts make out some more sentences and read with the right intonation - Practice chanting. Period : 76 Class: 5A,5B,5C Monday, January 15th 2024 UNIT 11: WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU? Lesson 3 (4.5.6.7) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: + read to understand how to stay healthy and write advice to someone when they have common health problems. 2. Skills. - Reading, writing and speaking,listening. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - To help Ss loving English, love animals. 4. Forming competence: - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem themselves - Use language to talk about animals by English. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book.
- 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. *. Warm up: Saying the chant “What’s the matter with you?” 1. Read and match. Then say - Ask sts to look at two columns with words and phrases given - Give instruction. - Explain what they have to do: read and match the words with phrases correctly - Have sts do the task in pairs - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. * Key: 1 - b; 2 - d; 3 - e; 4 – a; 5 – c; 6- b 2. Write your advice: - Have sts read the common health problems they have - Checking understanding how to give advice - Give sts some questions, ask them to give advices: + What can you advice Tony when he has a bad toothache? - Have sts work in pairs to act and give the advice - Have sts write in 5 mins individually - Remind sts how to write in correct way - Go around to help - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their answers aloud - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct *Suggested answers: 1. should brush teeth after meals/ shouldn’t eat too many sweets. 2. should keep warm/ shouldn’t go out 3. should eat healthy food/ shouldn’t talk too much and eat ice cream. 3. Project: Talk about two health problems and give advice - Have sts work in pairs to give the health problems and give advices - Model - Have sts talk - Go around and check their work - Comment 4. *Wrap – up. Colour the stars - Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension - Invite sts to read statements aloud - Sts colour stars base on the degree that they got from Unit 11 - Getting their ideas about difficulties to help.
- Period : 77 Class: 5A,5B,5C Wednesday, January 17th 2024 Unit 12: Don’t ride your bike too fast Lesson 1 (1 - 3) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: + use the words and phrases related to the topic preventing accidents at home. + express and respond to concerns about possible accidents at home. 2. Skills. - Reading, writing and speaking,listening. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - To help Ss loving English, love animals. 4. Forming competence: - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem themselves - Use language to talk about animals by English. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. *. Warm up: Miming - climb, play with match, run, ride a bike 1. Look, listen and repeat: - Have pupils look at the pictures - Elicit the answer to the questions: Who’s he/ she? What’s she doing with the knife? What’s she doing with the stove? -Tell them that they are going to hear Mary and Tom talking about possible accidents - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play
- - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Elicit the model sentences: Don’t play with with the knife. Ok. 2. Point and say: - Tell stst that they are going to practice expressing and responding to concerns about possible accidents at home - Pre- teach vocab: matches (visuals), climb (mime) - Have them look at the pictures and repeat the phrases once or twice - Point at each picture and have sts practice saying sentences with Don’t , using the information under each picture - Get them to practice in pairs - Explain the pattern: - Run through the key words/ phrases - Point at each picture and practice expressing and responding base on the model - Have sts practice asking and answering in pairs - Monitor the activity and help sts if they need - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance - Give feedback 3. Let’s talk: - Tell class that they are going to practice further by expressing and responding to concerns about possible accidents at home - Get sts to work in pairs to act out to ask and answer - Monitor and help sts - Call some pairs act out their work - Give feedback 4. *Wrap – up. - Have sts retell the content of the lesson. - Do ex B in workbook. Period : 78 Class: 5A,5B,5C Wednesday, January 17th 2024 Unit 12: Don’t ride your bike too fast Lesson 1 (4 - 6) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: + use the words and phrases related to the topic preventing accidents at home. + express and respond to concerns about possible accidents at home. 2. Skills. - Reading, writing and speaking,listening. 3. Attitude/ Quality:

Read and complete: - Tell sts that they are going to complete the passage with the 5 words given. - Give sts few seconds to read the passage in silence. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud the dialogue * Key: 1. room 2. cooking 3. answered 4. run 5. won’t - Have sts read aloud the passage 3. Let’s sing: - Show the song “Don’t do that!” - Have sts look at the pictures and give some ideas - Read the lyrics. - Check comprehension - Play the recording the song all the way through. - Have sts repeat each line of the lyrics a few times. - Have sts sing along. - Have sts practice singing and acting in groups - Call some groups sing aloud and do actions
