Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to practice: + ask and answer questions about book/ story and characters 1* Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills 2. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. 3. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Net work Funny story detective story Kinds of book/stor y Comic books series II. New lesson: fairy tales Activity 1. Listen and tick: - Have sts to look at 3 groups of pictures with characters given - Elicit the names of characters - Give instruction. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct pictures - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. *Key: 1. c 2. a 3. a Activity 2. Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: + say questions and answer with the correct intonation. 1. Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills 2. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. 3. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character. B. Procedure: I. III. Wrap up. - In this lesson, sts have learned how to say the sentences intonation in right way - Practice listening and acting the story. Period : 94 Class: 5A, 5B , 5C Monday, February 26th 2024 UNIT 14: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STORY? Lesson 3 (4.5.6.7) A. Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: + further practice about favourite story. 1. Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills 2. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. 3. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character.
- B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Reteling the story “The fox and the crow” II. New lesson: Activity 4. Read and write: - Show the passage and elicit the content - Give instruction. - Have sts read the text to get information and then write the answers for questions given - Have sts do the task individually - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. * Key: 1. She likes reading folk tales. 2. She thinks they’re usually short and interesting. 3. She thinks the characters are sometimes honest, greedy, wise, stupid. 4. She thinks the fox was clever and the crow was not. 5. Because each of them gives her a lesson in life. Activity 5. Write about the characters in your favourite story: - Have sts read the beginning phrases for sentences - Have them give ideas about information of stories that they like - Get some sts answer aloud - Checking understanding how to write - Have sts write in 5 mins - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their writing task - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct * Suggested answer: My favourite story is The fox and the crow. The main characters are the fox and the crow. I like the fox because it’s intelligent. Activity 6. Project Tell a story and say what you think of the characters - Have sts work in groups, one member tells a story and talk about characters - Set the time for Sts do the task - Go around and check their work - Comment - Call one st retell in front of the class III. Knowledge: - Ask and answer about what someone would like to be in the future.Pupils can ask and answer questions about what the other speaker would like to be in the future - Sentence Patterns: What would you like to be in the future? – I’d like to be a / an - Vocabulary: pilot, doctor, architect, writer 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Believe in yourself and go for your dream. - Love themselves. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character. III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2.
